Daily Considerations

Masterization: How many hours does it take for someone to master something? It seems that people state that it “takes a long time”, but no one really knows and even if they did know, would it even make a difference? Many people say that they want to be masters of their particular activity, but there are only a very select few that truly master it. Without a dedication to the activity, it will be impossible for people to master anything.
Height: My mom always told me that God made tall people so that they can be closer to Him. Many people that are tall, especially girls, wish that they were shorter so that they would fit in. But in all reality, we have to embrace it because it is what makes us unique. Our height is not only good for reaching things on the top shelf, it also allows for us to see the overall potential that God has in store for us that the shorter people may not be able to see till they get there.
Mentality: In sports today, your mentality can either win games or lose games. If you go into a game thinking you are going to lose, then ten out of ten times that will probably be the case. However, if you go in with your mindset on victory then you will play the best that you can possibly play. God wants us to have a mindset of serving others and with that mindset we have already won what everyone wants to have while living on this earth.
Respect: It should be easy to comprehend that respect needs to be a key aspect in our everyday lives. Without respect, there would be no order. Respect is a common courtesy that has to be extended to everyone, regardless if you like them are not. When God gives us the commandment of “honor thy father and thy mother”, we should do it because if it is important to God then it should be important to us.
Loyalty: In many cases a person’s loyalty is towards their family and their close friends. The same can be said about a sports team. Their loyalty is to their teammates and their coaches. In order for a good team to become great, this aspect has to be strongly present in each individual on the team. Without this one aspect of the teams identity, the entire team will crumble down and fall into chaos and pettiness.
Narrow: The more narrow your mind set is, the more opportunities are closed to you due to you not being able to see the image of the horizon rising up in front of you.
Disguise: Many people in today’s society choose to hide behind screens instead of being seen out in public. Is it because they are scared? It seems to me that they choose to live on a computer, because it allows for them to be who they want to be and not have to worry about people judging them. But in all actuality, we need to embrace our real selves and put it on display for everyone to see, because God made us in his image. Choosing to disguise who God made you to be is unfortunate, because God wanted you to be different for a reason and it is up to you to figure out what that purpose is.
Judgement: The world we live in is such a judgmental place. We question people that don’t look like us or vote the same way as we do. As a society we need to step back and examine the world we live in through the lens of Christ. How would Christ respond to these people? Christ wants his people to have hearts of compassion and love towards everyone. He doesn’t want people to judge others based on their past. He wants us to love them regardless of what they have done, because that is the way that He loves us.
Communication: In all aspects of our daily lives, communication is key. It is even more president in our relationship with God. God wants us to talk to Him about everything that is going on in our day. He wants us to feel comfortable with Him, so that we can tell Him about anything that we want to. In many ways it should be as easy as kids sitting down at the dinner table telling their parents about their day.
Time: One of the most precious things that we as human beings possess is time. We cannot gain any more time then what God has given us. As humans we need to be diligent with our time and use it to the best of our abilities. If we were to use our time on ourselves , then we would accomplish nothing that we leave a lasting impression on the earth. As followers in Christ, we need to use our time on this earth to serve other people due to Jesus being servant during His time here on earth.
Basketball: Simplicity at its finest. An escape from all the horrors of the day.
Loss: Family members need to be cherished. You never know how long you have with them. However, they aren’t truly gone. God takes them and keeps them in a safe place until it is our time to see them again. They wait for us, watching out for us from heaven with anticipation that you will soon join them in paradise.
